Discovering the twelve Olympian gods on the Parthenon frieze (pre-visit program) - combined with Acropolis and Acropolis Museum guided visits

This program is available in Greek
(available in English/French from October 2018)

By means of a performance - dramatised narrative, the students climb up the Acropolis Hill to meet one by one the twelve gods of Olympus, as depicted on the frieze of the Parthenon. They meet their features, their traits, their symbols and the myths related to their worship, while they discover the personality of each god and understand the role he/she had and the role of his/her symbol.

In the drama games and the other engaging activities that follow, led by theatrical educators and pedagogues, the students enact the gods that they have seen on the frieze, while they try to reconstruct their identity and their symbols.

This pre-visit interactive educational program prepares the students to understand the origin of the items they will see in the Museum, and for their visit to the Acropolis.
